The photo was taken with APs 2x barlow and eyepiece projection (using a 12.5mm orthoscopic) on a Lifecam Cinema HD modded webcam fitted with an UV/IR cutoff filter. An MJPEG video was taken of about 1.5 minutes at 30fps and 1280x720 resolution, to bring out as much detail as possible.
